Mikhail Youzhny beat Andre Agassi 6-3 7-6 to book his place in the final of The Boodles Challenge 2006 at Buckinghamshire's Stoke Park club.
World number 38 Youzhny won the opening match on the third day of the event, winning the first set and breaking Agassi early in the second.
Agassi then broke straight back but lost the second set 7-2 on the tie-break, leaving the Russian - 24 this coming Sunday - optimistic ahead of next week's Championships at SW19. Youzhny said: "I feel like I'm in good shape for Wimbledon.
He added: "I have one more match left here and I'm looking forward to it as I'm enjoying grass more and more.
"I don't mind who I play in the final, I played well yesterday (Wednesday) and to beat Andre today (Thursday), I must have played well!"
