Fifth seed Nadia Petrova has withdrawn from Wimbledon after failing to recover from a groin injury sustained prior to last month's French Open.
Petrova has won four titles this season and had been one of the favourites for Roland Garros before the training injury which contributed to an humiliating first-round loss.
Petrova, a Wimbledon quarter-finalist last year, has been replaced in the first round draw by lucky loser Julie Vakulenko of Ukraine.
