Travelling to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum
By Public Transport

  1. By Bus – the 493 bus service links Wimbledon Station (S.W. Trains, District Line Underground, Croydon Tram Link) and Southfields Station (District Line Underground) to the Museum.
  2. The 493 service is provided by NCP Challenger and runs single deck buses mostly with wheelchair access.
  3. The bus stops are immediately outside the Museum.
  4. By Black Cab – from Wimbledon station.  Drop off & pick up points outside the Museum.

By Car

  1. General visitor car parking is provided off Somerset Road, with escorts to the Museum.  Provision is made for Blue Badge parking close to the Museum from August to May – ask Security for directions.

The Museum

  1. Automatic doors give access to the Wimbledon Shop where displays are within reach of all visitors, and a low level counter provides a service point for users of wheelchairs.
  2. Entry to the Museum is via stairs or lift (DDA compliant) to the floor below.
  3. Seating is provided at various points around the Museum, and the displays are positioned for use by wheelchair users.
  4. The small cinema has dedicated spaces for wheelchairs.
  5. Accessible toilets are provided in the Museum Shop.
  6. In the event of an emergency evacuation wheelchair refuges are provided with communication, and staff are trained to effect evacuation by means of Evacuation Chairs.

Public Tours of the Grounds.

  1. The tour of the grounds takes about 90 minutes.  The route includes many steps which some might find challenging.  Many sections of the tour are fully accessible, while others are unsuitable for those in wheelchairs. We do, however, strive to provide an enjoyable experience for all.

Refreshments

    • Café Renshaw is separate from the Museum Building and is generally reached by external steps. Alternative ramped access is provided for wheelchairs, buggies and for those who find steps difficult.
    • Accessible toilet and low level service counters are provided within the café.
