Centre Court Roof Test Event

The All England Club has confirmed its intention to hold a ticketed event open to the public in the Centre Court ahead of The Championships 2009, in order to test the new roof and air conditioning system.
The event is scheduled for Sunday 17 May 2009. Details concerning the programme of events, timings and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) have agreed to renew and extend their existing agreement relating to The Championships, Wimbledon until at least 2053.

2008 Wimbledon Championships
The 122nd Championships saw Spain's Rafael Nadal beat the five-time champion Roger Federer in quite possibly the finest men's final in the history of The All England Club. In the ladies' event, defending champion Venus Williams defeated her sister Serena to clock up her fifth Wimbledon victory in nine years.
