Wimbledon Continues to Deliver for British Tennis
The Championships 2008, jointly managed by The All England Lawn Tennis Club and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), has generated £25.667 million, all of which will be invested into British Tennis.
Roger Draper, Chief Executive of the LTA, said: “The 2008 Championships was a truly memorable occasion with a fortnight of superb tennis including an epic men’s final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and a great run to the quarter finals for Andy Murray. Laura Robson’s junior title was a fantastic achievement and really captured the public’s imagination. The tournament proved once again to be one of the world’s premier sporting events.”
“Finally, we would like to thank the All England Club and look forward to working with them over the coming year when we will continue to make significant improvements in British Tennis.”
