Yanina Wickmayer claimed her first career title with a straight-sets victory over Ekaterina Makarova in the final of the Estoril Open.

The 19-year-old Belgian, ranked 88th in the world, breezed past the sixth-seeded Russian 7-5 6-2 to pick up her maiden WTA Tour crown in Portugal.

Makarova, 20, is still waiting for her first singles tour title. She also finished runner-up to Anabel Medina Garrigues at the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Fes earlier this month.
