Britain's Jamie Murray and partner Max Mirnyi lost to American pair Mike and Bob Bryan in the second round of the Rome Masters.
The top seeds broke once in each set to record a 6-4 6-4 victory and secure a place in the quarter-finals against Italian wild cards Flavio Cipolla and Potito Starace.
Murray and Mirnyi often struggled to hold onto their serve and saved a total of 11 break points before the class of the Bryan brothers told.
