Lindsay Davenport continued her impressive return to the WTA with a dominating 6-2 6-2 victory over Aravane Rezai of France to claim the title at the $145,000 ASB Classic.
The 31-year-old American returned to the Tour in September 2007 following an 11-month absence due to pregnancy.
The former world number one went 13-1 in three singles events, winning titles at Bali and Quebec City.
Davenport picked up right where she left off in 2007 at this Tier IV event, losing just one set en route to her 55th career title.
Against Rezai, Davenport took control of the match with her serve, firing four aces while winning 20-of-24 first-serve points.
Rezai, who never has won a WTA event and was appearing in just her second final, struggled to find consistency in the match, double-faulting seven times while failing to force a break point.
